This is one strange tale from Salon. Unfortunately from what I remember from Christmas, Thanksgiving etc., it seems to be true. Of course Salon.com says it’s all tongue in cheek….what’s that about truth in a joke?
Barack Obama says he’s a Christian, but he refuses to celebrate Easter, the holiest of Christian holidays not involving Santa. As Fox Nation reports, the White House didn’t release an Easter proclamation. Because it hates Easter.
In addition to hating Easter, the Obama Administration seems to love … a different religion. His father was a Muslim and his mother raised him in Islamic Indonesia. He admitted in his “Songs of his father,” that he really knew nothing about Christianity until meeting his wife at law school, Michelle Robinson and then converted to the faith under Reverend Jeremiah Wright. In lieu of all this, it is not odd that he is very understanding towards the Islamic faith, but considering he was supposed to have converted, it is odd.
President Obama failed to release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity’s most sacred holiday. By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.
The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday. However, while they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day. Likewise, the president’s weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.
This was originally on Salon.com at http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/04/25/war_on_easter/index.html but now it is gone. That’s the problem with the liberal press — they remove what is they do not like and then put up fake press what they want to cover. WayBack archives could not find it, and you would now think I’m imagining it all. I will search further — the New York times has no record of any Obama Easter message, perhaps that’s all I will find.
