Jeremiah 32:17 “Sovereign Lord, you made the earth and the sky by your great power and might; nothing is too difficult for you.”
Which is why we are happy that He likes us because then we know He will help us too.
Spurgeon likes this too and has it as his Evening Prayer for June 30th. He explains the verse as being written at the very time when the Chaldeans surrounded Jerusalem, and war, famine and pestilence had desolated the land.
Jeremiah had already been commanded to purchase a field, and have the deed of transfer legally sealed and witnessed. Odd thing that, but Jeremiah did as bidden by God convinced that nothing is too hard for the God that created the heavens and the earth and parted the Red Sea for his Israelites, even when we do not know the outcome or reason for the current difficulty. Maybe it’s there to show us just how much he loves us and not really there for “us” at all.
