A DIY MFA program

This one comes from Carol Ungar, writes for the Writer as well the Orthodox Jewish Tablet online magazine.  She uses the Gotham Writing Workshop  as her DIY MFA.

It’s an interesting idea. You take their writing workshop and get a writing lesson every week sent to your Notebook on their website. While the writing itself is still done solo, the course is in a group format, running for ten weeks.  You respond to each weeks lesson within the week it is assigned.
and only the instructor reviews your work. Each class “session” lasting for seven days so It’s important that the class stay on track, and  meet your deadlines.

Typically you submit your response in under 500 words. The brevity will help you focus your work. If you really need to run longer, keep it under 750 words.  And that’s it.
