Water! Just a drop to drink…Matthew

KJV Matthew 10: 42. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall be rewarded.

“Little ones” are means the newest of Christ’s disciples while A cup of cold water only is the smallest act of kindness, like the cool waters that Veronica gave Christ on the Via Doloroso on his way to be crucified on Mount Golgotha (Calvary). Though many say that the Veil of Turin and Veronica are apocryphal, as there is no real mention of either in the New Testament, but still, don’t you think some kind woman did offer him water on that hot day when he carried the Cross along the Via Dolorosa?

Oh yes I know now that they are claiming that there is no Via Dolorosa either, but does that make sense that the Romans would have carted these thieves and criminals to the site? Isn’t that a bit of 21st century political correctness? I really doubt that the Romans would have been kind to the trio at all. I can’t see it. Can you? Sometimes I think the old adage, of if you have nothing to new to say, you won’t get heard, is behind all this garbage on the Discovery, Nat’ Geo, Learning and whatever other Pseudo Think channel that they come up with. Anything for a viewer, but is any of it right? Any of it make sense? I don’t think so and if you think about it, it doesn’t make sense to you either.

But back to words in Matthew 10, if you do any small kindnesses out of regard for Christ, then you never lose your reward because Good deeds are never lost and can never ben undone. Now if that isn’t the wildest greatest thought of all?

Concerning this whole Chapter of Matthew, the six things here belong to the aspects of discipleship (1) Confessing, or professing their faith; (2) Fighting; (3) Bearing his standard (the cross); (4) Suffering; (5) Following; (6) Giving up life. These are all the duties of the soldier.
