Midwinter’s day is February 2nd and technically the last day of the Christmas season, and so also brings us the Celtic Imbolc (St Brigid’s day was yesterday) and of course the infamous Ground Hog …Lent soon begins, Western Christians February 18th; Eastern Christians (Byzantines and Orthodox) the following week.
