The giraffe in the picture from Etosha National Park, Namibia, reminds me of the Proverb. chapter 2 on the value of wisdom:
For the Lord gives wisdom, and from that comes knowledge and understanding… and so prudence will watch over you ….and save you from evil.
NRSV ii: 6-14
Etosha National Park
Namibia’s premier national park and the third-largest game reserve in the world, Etosha is a semiarid savanna ten times the size of Luxembourg. Wildlife in great numbers, from elephants and cheetahs to zebras and giraffes, gather at its watering holes; flamingos and pelicans descend by the tens of thousands after spring rains fill its broad salt pan. It was formerly the German colonial range with a fort at the northeastern end of Namutoni, which was originally built in 1901, destroyed in 1904, and reconstructed between 1905 and 1907. Now the fort like that of Fort Ticonderoga in upstate New York, is a tourist area.
