news: US Polling subject to Russian Roulette

The New York Times is reporting that:
Senior intelligence officials say that Russian hackers can’t rig the U.S. presidential election, but that they may be able to disrupt it, especially by casting doubt on the legitimacy of the results.
Voting machines aren’t supposed to be connected to the internet, and most states keep paper backups of ballots. But one fear is that the rolls could be manipulated to either leave off registered voters’ names or to allow those barred from voting to cast a ballot.

If this is true, than we’ve really fallen behind the tech curve…despite the iPads, iPhones and Kindles, and perhaps its time to remember the real STAR WARS and how that got killed because “no one understood it”.
